ag tires one backwards accedent or by design?

I have seen several cubs for sale over the years with one ag tire mounted backwards. i do not recall seeing it in the manaul. is this a mistake mounting the tires on the rims or a reasonable set up?

Dad said it was deliberate on the Deere 60 he had in order to reduce wheel hop in highway gear.

My friend had the ag tread rear tires, with 45 degree angle bars, on his Cub. He had the left rear tire facing backwards for some time. The Cub didn't pull nearly as good forward, as when both tires face ahead.
The left side would spin before the right side. The left side of a Cub has more weight than the right side also.
