I have a 300 utility with the two-prong fast hitch. When I got it about a year ago I noticed the PTO was spinning slowly when the lever was in the off position. I adjusted the linkage so it did not spin when it was off. About a month ago I was doing some other stuff on the tractor and I decided to use test the PTO for the first time to bush hog a small field as a test run. I could not get the mower blades to spin fast enough when the PTO was engaged. I am thinking the PO adjusted the linkage to get the PO the run full speed and was OK with it spinning slowly when off.
Does anyone have a procedure or recommendations on how to adjust the PTO linkage? Is there another location I need to adjust besides the obvious linkage area to get it not the spin when off and spin at full speed when on?
