75 Cub Touch Control Rebuild

My '75 Cub needs Touch Control Rebuild. I understand there are two different kits depending on the unit part number. Unfortunately, my Cub is located a couple of hours drive from home so I can't easily check it.

Given that this is a late-model Cub, I'm hoping someone can tell me what kit it probably uses. I'm hoping to get the parts on order today and go and get the tractor this weekend.

Thanks, Bryan

Given that your tractor is toward the end of production (1979) it probably has the last part number which is 360 712 R92. (Maybe Jim Becker will confirm the number, its in the TC37F Parts list). Also consider the tractor is 50 years old and could have been substituted by a different TC block sometime in the past. The only way to be certain of what you have is to get the part number that's cast into the side of the housing. JMHO Stan

Hi,
The newest part number of Touch Control block on Cubs was used from mid 1954 on.
It is 360719R1. That number is cast into the block. The number was on the left side of the block for years.
The 360712R92 is the number for the Parts Accessory, Farmall Touch Control, it calls it in the Cub parts manual.
Below is a page from the manual showing the info. The block part number is at the top of the page.

In the newer years of Cubs they moved the number to inside the front of the unit, by the rockshaft.
The number is probably there on a 1975 Cub. Use a light and look in from the left side.
The area may need cleaning to see the number.
Below is a picture of where the number is, I can see the 360 in the pic.
Below is a listing for the gasket kit at TM Tractor Parts, you can look at the pics.

The strainer may need replacing if it isn't in good condition. Below is TM Tractor Parts listing for it.

There is another gasket kit for blocks with different part numbers. :)

Thank you all for you assistance and Glen for your complete answer to my question. Unfortunately, I didn't see it until after I had driven up to my land.

(The Cub lives in the barn there. As it turned out, I went to look at a Cub for-sale today. I didn't buy it, but stopped by my land on the way back this afternoon and looked for the part number.)

However, I can confirm that there is no part number on the left side. I assume it is on the inside close to the rock shaft. I didn't know too look there for it at the time. Now I know. Thank you!

In any case, I'm going to go ahead and order the parts as well as new dust boots and a replacement strainer.

Thanks again Glen! I appreciate your assistance!
