6V ignition switch.

Are there any improvements for this switch on my 64 Lowboy? The old girl let me down during the abnormal snow and cold we just had. Wouldn't hit a lick, and had to shovel alot. After bypassing the switch with a jumper direct to the battery, it was determined that the switch is at fault, at least intermittently. She's all original, and would like to keep her appearing that way.. Single knob, out is on, and pushed in is off. Sorry I haven't been around much lately.. Thanks, Stan
 
Was kinda hoping there is a weatherproof switch that would appear like the original on the operator side.. If not, I'll come up with something.. Thanks,
 
I sprayed the one on my BN w/mag with WD-40, and pulled it in and out a BUNCH of times and it seemed to have fixed it. That was 5-6 years ago and still works OK. If it sets out like mine did at that time, might be an idea to cover it.
 
I had the same problem on my 55 LoBoy, I wired a LED by the coil so I could visually check if there was power.

I had the same thing happen on my old Farmall. Looked fine outside but the contacts inside were worn and dirty. Cold weather made it worse. I took the switch apart and cleaned the contacts well. That helped for a while. Later I found a better quality reproduction switch that looked the same but worked much better. Sometimes the old 6V systems don’t like any extra resistance.
