I’ve gotten some really helpful advice on here, and I truly appreciate it, so I wanted to share this in case it helps someone else. I’ve been taking my time putting my transmission back together, and while watching a YouTube video today, I realized I had made the same mistake shown in the video. Thankfully, I caught it before reassembling my Cub. If you skip ahead to 12:19, you’ll see where the shaft seal was installed backwards.

I made the same mistake years ago at the Barnyard Bash. We couldn't figure out what the noise was and I had given up as it was the last day, after the evening meal. Ralph suggested it was the shaft seal installed backwards and before I knew it, my Cub was in the barn being disassembled. Would have given a Indy pit crew a run for their money! In no time the problem with corrected and all was good! Cub people and Cub Fests are the best!!
