I have tried a couple of different planters and have found planet jr. #300 to be as good as it can be.39 settings gives me the ability to plant any seed, sometimes the spacing is a little close, but I would rather cull some than try and reseed a bare spot.I had 2 earth way planters that worked good on large seeds but turnip and mustard would get caught between the disc and hopper,It was caused by a static charge between the seeds and two different plastics used in the unit.
I plant 6 acres field corn,6 acres greens, and 1 acre various veggy's all with the planet jr. This fall we are adding another unit to double drill!! and maybe a third.
You can pic up a good used one for about $350 on ebay, all parts are available through a local dealer, just google planet jr. to find one
