I’m thinking about picking up a Cub I saw yesterday. The wife may even approve.
I’m hoping to get a better look at it soon. Hopefully I can clear my driveway with it, pull a small trailer for bringing firewood up to the house and plow some small plots on my property.
This is the one that interests me.
It’s close enough I can drive it home, if I get it. If the seller answers his phone or texts…
I’ll swing back my today after reading the “what to look for posts” also there is the AuSable Valley Engine and tractor show next weekend that may be fun and informative.
I hope the price is somewhat flexible.
It’s on a side road with little traffic.
But there should be other options available if i keep my eyes open.
Maybe even one with a plow or discs.
Cubs were made from 1947 - 1979.
The Cub in your picture has the 1st style of hood and grille, used from 1947 - mid 1954.
Cubs had 6 volt, positive ground electrical systems until mid 1964, then IH changed them to 12 volt, negative ground systems.
I sent you a message, you get to it near the upper right of the page.
The photo also shows a magneto ignition. If you're not familiar with that I suggest you learn how they operate. NO BATTERY required to run the engine, only needed for starting with the starter motor. JMHO Stan
