I'm a new member and wanted to post a picture of my late 1950 Super A, but am having a hard time getting it to upload. Seeing as I had already typed all this info before I realized that the picture wouldn't upload, I'll still post the info and work on the photo later... I got it at an auction about a year ago. Got it running and used it this summer in my garden. It worked and ran great, though I did have to disassemble the transmission after cultivating season was over to replace the oil slinger gear as it had a couple broken teeth and made the transmission noisy. The replacement gear was around $200 from A&I and was made from steel instead of alloy like the original. I feel like it was a much improved part. Quiet as a mouse now! I also replaced all the seals when I had it apart also. Made a big difference, no leaks on the floor now! Working on getting it painted now. Got it wire brushed down and partially primed now. One more purple power wash down and a warm day, and I should have it painted!

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the new-to-you '50 SA. Nice you were able to get the slinger gear and seals replaced. The SA is one versatile tractor.

Now that you have more than 2 posts, you can access all the manuals on the server. They’re located under the "Quick Links" pull-down menu in the upper left of the screen. Go to "PDF Manuals", then scroll down and select whatever manual interests you. We'd suggest downloading the Owner's Manual first and taking some time to read it (if you don't already have one). Many questions you may have will be answered there. There are Service Manuals and other information for the A and SA that will be helpful.

Make sure your pictures are resized to 500KB or below first. We'd also encourage you to read:

Use the "Search" box in the upper right of the screen. It will locate answers to many of your questions. If you can’t find the answer, start a new thread over in the Farmall A, Super A, AV, 100, 130 & 140 sub-forum.

Glad to have you here. Attach a picture of your SA, we'd like to see it.

Well, still no luck getting any pictures to upload to this site, but it works pretty good over on yesterdays tractors, so I made a post over there and this is the link. Thanks for all the suggestions!

So I bought my first tractor, ‘54 super A a week ago
“Was running before we parked it”. It must have been parked in a lake. Clutch frozen, water in #3 cylinder.
With the help of this forum and youtube I hope to have it running, repainted and parade ready. I have grandkids that need to be pulled around

There is a Cubfest in Bogalusa in March. There is also an active IH chapter there. One of the locals can give you more info about that. Welcome to the Forum.

And think about attending the DSCF (Deep South Cubfest) in Sneads, FL in Feb! LOTS of fun, and a chance to meet many forum members, eat good food, and either help work on other's tractors, or bring yours for help with something!
