Treasures from the Louisville Plant.

Postby Ken (48 Cub) » Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:04 pm

My BIL's uncle worked at the Louisville Plant as a tool and die man in the foundry until it closed. This is a picture of some of the things they made for themselves "just for fun".

You can see the book ends are cast iron and had their names on them. The bells are solid cast (no clanger). The soldiers are very common. He does not have any bears (makes me wonder if they were cast at another location).

Sorry it's sideways...click on it to see it better, enjoy!

Very cool!!
It seems like Louisville is the forgotten IH tractor plant. Everybody is always hung up on the Farmall Plant in Rock Island.
