Re: Snow
I rode over to a friends bow shop today when the kids went down for a nap and on the way back I saw this. Don’t worry, the wife was home with the kids while I was gone. I said well, the power is back on. I sent the picture to a friend who works for the power company and told him the location.

Re: Snow
We here in Central NC lucked out...only very light sleet last night, then only rain. I was keeping my fingers crossed that we did NOT get that nasty freezing rain! Sorry you got it Shane!

Re: Snow
Got just a bit over 12 inches of heavy wet snow, total. Fortunately the ground temperature is just above freezing and we also got a rain shower Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately the wet snow packes down to ice when compressed.
Main roads are clear. Side streets sort of cleared, suitable for 4 wheel drives.
Did get wife's all wheeled drive car shoveled out. Left the 2 wheeled drive pickup to be shoveled out later, hopefully after the temperature reaches the forecast 43 degrees on Wednesday or Thursday.

Re: Snow
14 Jan 19 morning. Son drove to the acreage. Said he had to shovel snow to open the gate.
Son had a photo of snow curled off the shop roof. The curl was about 4 feet long and about 8 inches thick. The curl extended down off the roof enough to block the entrance door.

My wife sent these to me this morning. She said this is one way to make thyme stand still.

Re: Snow
We got some more snow yesterday - about 3 to 4 inches. I had to picked up my youngest daughter who works in Festus, Missouri (about 30 miles away) and the roads were just wet on the way up there, but it was snowing just a little. By the time we started home, about 5 miles from Festus, the highway was covered, and by the time we got to Bonne Terre, the roads were pretty bad. But, we made it home okay. There isn't enough snow to really plow with the Cub and it's super cold now, so I think I'll leave alone. It was so windy yesterday and last night, that some areas got blown almost clear anyways.....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Re: Snow
Glad you got home safely.
Similar story east of KC. Snow and ice forecasted earlier for Friday-Saturday didn’t materialize; maybe an inch. It was bitterly cold and windy.
Original forecast for the AFC Championship game was 6 degrees F, now supposed to be near 20. Still wouldn’t want to stand out in that game no matter who was playing! Will root for the Chiefs in the comfort of my living room.

Re: Snow
You said you would be glad to share some snow with us but your generosity is overdone and therefore I cannot keep all of it. By mid afternoon yesterday when the storm had passed I had seven inches of the white fluffy stuff. So I fired up the cadet, lifted the deflector on the blower as high as I could, brought the engine to full speed, aimed the discharge chute at Missouri and let it fly. Let me know if it arrives.

With the wind we were having, that snow landed in Iowa or Illinois, never made it to Missouri, plus some of the snow that was falling here landed east of the Mississippi, I'm sure.
