1967 Cub Low Boy Not Really a Low Boy

Ok good I paid 2500 for the pair. The 1951 is nice not quite as clean as the 67 obviously. l but has a very fresh Woods mower.

My 65 standard cub has bent shifter. That's standard with the deluxe seat.

Grabbed some new pictures but didnt get it out because of the storm. I was wrong the drive units are yellow. They just look orange because of oil seepage. I do see alot of red paint on some components where the yellow is chipped. Yeah either decaled wrong or good was replaced some time.

The serial number and the cast code ("N") both point to 1967 Farmall Cub tractor (standard, not a lo-boy). That red paint on the steering bolster by the serial tag confuses me. Doesn't look to have been repainted over or the serial tag changed. It could have happened early in life though and the hood could have been changed then too. Get the cast code (at bottom side) of the lower and upper bolster if possible.

Regardless of originality or not, that is a very nice looking tractor & blade. Looks to have been well cared for.

Probably just had the wrong decals on it, if you look at the snow plow frame those decals were installed upside down also, its really a regular cub, looks like a nice tractor

I thought all darkness on the paint and wheels was from oil leaks. When I was talking to the family this weekend they said at one point someone was doing metal fab in the building where it was kept for a while so it might be welding soot. It kinda takes on a orange appearance in spots. Looks like there's more red paint peaking out in areas around the engine. Ill have to get it out and clean. Then report back. Thanks for all your wisdom. I learned on here it's 12V the other day. I didnt even think about that!

I believe I have read on here that a red oxide primer was used, especially on the castings, which would be sort of a red-brown. Might that be what is being uncovered where the yellow chips off?

Just a update I cleaned her out, changed the oil and got her ready for the snow storm. I am gonna guess she got some front end damage early in life. I found some yellow overspray on the belt which I doubt is factory. The sediment bowl/valve is epoxied into the tank bung. The red we see peaking out might be a prime coat. She runs like a sewing machine but does need some electrical TLC and a carb rebuild.
No regrets. Also needs weights and chains!!!! Useless in the snow!!##

If there is any question that the bolster was replaced and the tractor sn tag is not correct to look at the engine sn. http://www.tmtractor.com/id/id_003.htm

There are not a lot of 67 in the serial number database but the engine sn should be about 26,000 higher than the tractor. ( the engines were used in many applications within IH and sold to others.)

I still think the hood got replaced somewhere in its life on purpose or by accident.
