That is what they told me. If your phone is a 3G only (CDMA) it will not function at the end of Dec. 2019. Personally I suspect that when they make the announcement to everyone they will offer some special deals on the newer phones. It will probably be marked "4G LTE" if it is good enough for Verizon after next year. You can also google the model number and read the description on whatever page that finds.

Anyone who like me has been grandfathered in,and has had the same rates for a while is going to get a shock when the price also goes up. Mine would have jumped 30%, which is a jolt considering we have 3 phones on the same plan.
