Super A with Waterpump - Belt is Not Fitting
Trying to help a friend out on his restoration of a 1949 Super A and he decided to add a water pump to it. Upon installing the belt (he used CNH p/n 60712D and crossed to Napa 2526353) it does not clear the lower outlet on the water pump. He said he ground the outlet down a little bit hoping it would help it clear, but that isn't the case. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I remember the outlet on the aftermarket pumps having a flat spot on them where the belt runs, but I can't tell if this one has that or not. If it does have the flat spot, it isn't much.

Re: Super A with Waterpump - Belt is Not Fitting
Chase, I added a water pump to my '48 SA, and it did have a flat spot. Hopefully you can see it in the first two photos below. If I remember right, though, I still had to grind a tad more off, and was worried about the thickness of the outlet wall. But it seems to be fine. (This was an original, from a forum member, that I rebuilt)

Re: Super A with Waterpump - Belt is Not Fitting
Dale,
Apparently the "correct" belt was the problem. He had Brandon from Burch Store send him an old belt that was on a tractor on his yard and it seems to fit perfectly and work. The problem was in the width of the new belt. The numbers he used and I found all match up to what is "correct" for it though. That used old belt is visually narrower and the number of it doesn't seem to match anything I've searched for in Google. The old used belt is marked clearly as 757713.
