Well,
My A of similar vintage cranks over hard and fast with the original 6V system.
I don't know if there are more "original" looking 12 V systems, but you can always pick up a 6v generator for it, and they don't seem any more problematic than those on the cubs.
Of course, painting your GM alternator Red makes something of a statement as well.....
And, with your wife standing next to it, not too many guys will ever notice....

Heated and straightened. Reading up on shrinking and stretching metal. Got it pretty straight. had to push the middle out . if I remember right . When I was a kid we were pushing a load of hay up a hill, as the barns all had hill approaches and some bales fell into the front of the grill and bent it. been that way for about 30 yrs.
