Super A Front Tire Replacements...

Postby allenlook » Fri Mar 24, 2006 6:23 pm

My Super A has really old 3-rib tires on the front. I remember I replaced the Cub fronts with trailer tires and I'm very happy with them, is there also a 5.00x15 trailer tire (or equivalent) that won't tear up the lawn, or do you guys use something else?

Allen - consider ribbed implement tires. Go to http://www.millertire.com and look under implement tires. These typically have stronger sidewalls and will stand up better than trailer tires.

We tried this on the SA & found you were using the brakes 1/2 the time to help turn it.
We put the 3 rib on & it will turn on it's own.

The 500-15 was the old VW Bug tire size & is a little out dated.
The guys around this area pay big $ for that size to put on there rebuilt bugs.
If it's been broken I did it.
If its not broken wait till I touch it.

Found 'em

Postby allenlook » Thu Mar 30, 2006 9:23 pm

I found a pair of 3-rib 5.00-15's on eBay last night, with tubes, from Tucker Tire, so I ordered 'em up.

The Super A turns HARD compared to the Cub. Don't know if that's because of the weight of the loader, or what...

YES

Put the loader on the cub & it will turn hard also.
