How Do I Change My Profile?

Postby Rick (50, NC) » Wed Aug 06, 2003 7:01 am

Apparently the Bulletin Board doesn't like my use of an apostrophe in my registered user name (Rick ('50, NC), and will not allow me to log in nor access my profile to remove the apostrophe.

How can I change this or can you change my user name to delete the apostrophe?

Thanks.

Rick:

I guess you are right, I see you are logged on as a guest. Appears that your profile is not registered. I will send a copy of your post to Dennis so that he can delete the profile if it exists at all. I cannot do it, because there is nor link to your profile period.

My suggeston would be that you re-enter all your data. I might suggest that you enter it as such - Rick/50/NC or Rick50NC or some variation along those lines that you like.

Hope this helps

As an old DOS dude, I would suggest that you also stay away from forward or backward slashes /// or \\\ if possible.

It had been working for you before. Maybe this is the first time you have logged out and need to log back in? (Maybe it is only the log-in function that haves the problem with the apostrophe.)

If you haven't yet, try a couple variants to log in. Try to log in as "Rick (50, NC)" and try "Rick (''50, NC)" (that is 2 apostrophes together, not a quote). You might try the quote mark as well. If you get in, go to your profile and change your name.

There was a bug in v2.0.5 that I "just" installed :x that causes this problem. I've downloaded v2.0.6 and will apply the patch later tonight.

Thanks for catching this one guys!

Rick - it should work now. Let me know if you continue to have any problems logging in. I may need to remove your account and let you re-register.
