The Winter that just keeps on giving

Postby Jason (IL) » Thu Feb 27, 2014 2:35 pm

Another 4 to 6" of snow with continuing cold temps. When is enough, enough, old man winter? I guess we can't do much about it so we have to deal with it but my oh my can I at least get a warm up here, cabin fever is really making me go NUTS. I am getting tired of working on inside projects and not being able to enjoy the weather.

You all take care. Spring is only 21 days away.

I've got the winter time blues bad. I miss my shop that I had in Illinois. It was insulated, drywalled, lots of light, heat and A/C. Here in Pittsburgh I have a car port. My oldest son lives 6 blocks away and has a garage that I have my 73 Cub in just waiting for about a days work and it will be done.

His garage has no heat and I just can't work all bundled up, very cold, crazy wind, and snow. Also I see my Cub has become a catch all for all kinds of stuff and it's piled pretty high. I hope the parts I had sitting on the Cub in various places are still there.

This house will be paid for in a couple of years and the first thing is build a garage. Anyway, that's how I feel about the weather this winter, I know it will get better and all will be good. I feel fortunate to be a member of this forum where I can keep caught up on Cub happenings and learn some stuff too.

Ya, but the next 10 day forecast is still 20 to 25 degrees below normal with freezing rain and snow included.

I'm out of indoor projects. Seldom take my one mile a day walk because I would have to get dressed up like an eskimo. No use going to the unheated shop to work on any projects. Would get frost bite or stuck to the metal just taking off my gloves.

Sooner or later, probably later, spring.
I have an excuse. CRS.

More presents from Mother Nature in the near future, Saturday night, Sunday morning. 1/2 inch of ice and then 4 to 8 inches of snow on top of the ice.

Just how fortunate can some folks get?
I have an excuse. CRS.

Walked out of the garage tonight and about slipped and fell, freezing rain here now and snow to come on top that. OUCH, I think I'll be staying put unless I have to.

I think mother nature got the memo we didn't get 1/2 the snow they were calling for, I'll take that as a sign that spring is closing in.
