Tobacco Setter/Transplanter Questions
Does anyone have pictures of a transplanter for a non fast hitch cub and how everything hooks up? I'd like to see how they lift. Thanks

Re: Tobacco Setter/Transplanter Questions
The brackets went where the fast hitch hooks, then bolted to the draw bar, was raised and lowered with a chain

Re: Tobacco Setter/Transplanter Questions
Rode up to the woods today and checked my grandpa's old setter and it's a Holland. It's actually in really good shape. I'm going to get it down to the garage and clean it up. It is a 3 point hitch with the mounted barrel but appears that it can be changed very easily as they all seem universal.I noticed it even has a bracket made between the two seats that holds all the spare gears for changing the plant spacing and they were all there. So it should work great for planting tomatoes and other garden stuff. Now I just need to find a factory drawbar mount for a holland. I found a NOS drawbar mount today with lift chains but it was for a MT.
My next question is will a cub go slow enough?

Yes. I never saw an IH with a Hydra-Creeper around here. Everybody just throttled down in first gear.....

Re: Tobacco Setter/Transplanter Questions
Guess with tobacco being spaced closer when I change the gearing wouldn't it give a little more time or actually slow the fingers?
Have you watched the hydra creeper video on YouTube, it appears to slow.

Re: Tobacco Setter/Transplanter Questions
We set sweet taters at 12 inches, my brother and his wife plant them no problem with me driving the 140. It does get a bit fast going down hill .
The thing is you have to have TWO good droppers planting anything. Some are just not able to do it.
You come here to Va and I will show you the way to plant using a trans-planter [ we always called em bacco planters]
You have to have it set up properly to plant or a high percentage of the plants will not live

If you have a good dropper they can plant on either side.
