Winter Fest :) (UPDATE)

Postby Jeff Silvey » Wed Dec 04, 2013 9:02 pm

Some might want to know that the Winter Fest is still a GO. We know that we can not do anything about Mother Nature. Our place is open to our friends to have a fun time. If you can not make the fest we understand. The main thing in life is to be SAFE & arrive to have fun. We will find a place to park your wheels. I do have some connection.
Have a SAFE trip Please.

Just like the postal service, Rosie and I will be there. If I can put up Christmas lights in 20º temps I can make it to your CubFest! See you Saturday.

Wish I lived closer, I'd like to attend. I have a IHC Chapter #1 Christmas Dinner in Pilot Grove, MO on Saturday, so I'll still be around some tractor guys, just not Cub specific.

You guys have a great time. Please take pictures and post next week for us to see. Be safe!

I'm posting this early. I will be watching the weather. Safety is the key factor.
I will post Friday morning what we are going to do on this fest.

If anyone needs to talk to me here's my # 317- 402-1370.

Jeff, we're watching the weather on our end, as well. We probably won't decide till Sat. morning, on making the trip, or not. As you said, it's all about safety! (and of course what could be a miserable drive)

We're watching it as well. The online Weather Channel hourly forecast from this area and from Jeff's area shows the snow ending from 8:00 to 11:00 tonight and the cloud cover leaving over night bringing near single digit temps. After sunrise, they call for bright sunny conditions all day long but cold and breezy.

Unless things get worse than they forecast, we'll jump on Rt. 36 and head west about sunrise. Plan to leave for home to get back in time to see the OSU game in Indy.

Why not just go see the game while your there?

As of now we plan to be on I-74 bright and early unless we have a sizable amount of snow between here and there.

Because it's warmer here and the view is better in front of the 50" plasma. And most of all, I'm too cheap to pay the price of those tickets.  8)

Jeff, I hate like heck to do it but I am going to stay put this weekend. Living in FL most of my life, I have very little winter driving experience and probably shouldn't start this weekend.
Hate to miss it but hope you have a great time this weekend.

Past Midnight, and just got home from Omaha. The wife will need me to take her to work tomorrow @ 5:00. Hasn't been out of the driveway in a couple of days, so I'll need to get a handle on the driveway & sidewalks while I can. Breaks my heart, but I'll need to stay here tomorrow, she'll need picked up too. We have around 10" of snow from what I can tell. That's unusual for these parts, and the county hasn't been to our road yet.. Sorry!

Well, after discussing it with the wife, she said it was up to me, but she'd rather stay put today. We're staying put today! Sorry Jeff, I hope you still have a decent turn out. On the up side, there's an auction, about a half mile up the road, today with a couple interesting items, so we may go check it out.
