An Early Cub Christmas Present

Postby DieselDennis » Sat Nov 09, 2013 12:46 am

Outback Toy Store (Binkley & Hurst) is having a clearance special on a '64 Cub with under slung exhaust, deluxe seat, and fast hitch. A highly detailed model for only $25. A great deal.

This retailer also has several other Cub models for sale as well, just not at this good of a price.

I like it. It has the fasthitch deluxe seat w/arm rest and even a barnyard's step. My wife doesn't want me to buy any more tractors but I really don't think she'll mind this one.

I thought the step was interesting. It has it on the model, but was the step ever offered from the factory? How did they know to put the step on? And what caused them to do this?

The step first showed up in TC-37F Revision 2 Parts Catalog (Issued 9-70)

My guess is they knew to add them (as an accessory) when the farmers wanted an easier way to get on their Cub.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
