Using the barnyard annex for a good cause.

Postby Barnyard » Wed Sep 25, 2013 7:32 am

Many of you know that Rosie and I bought the old farm house across the road from us. The place is so rotted it is beyond repair, so before tearing it down I offered it to our local small community fire department for training. This video partially shows how they do a rescue from a smoke filled house. The department will be using the house for the next three or four months on their training days. Additional training will include ladder rescue and plaster wall penetration as well as other technics. Neighboring departments will also join in for some joint training exercises.

To many people this will be boring to watch, but to the men and women who risk their lives to protect us and our property this is an important part of their job.

Been there, done that numerous times. Thanks for the video Bill.
Training is so important to new and experienced fire fighters that when the real deal comes along
all know what to expect and how to perform their jobs.
Thanks for letting your local heros train in your building.
Who knows who it will help someday.

If you listen to the one firefighter at 3:32 you can tell he was having fun. :D
