Puller for Removing the Crank Pulley

Postby AL Farmall Boy » Sun Aug 18, 2013 12:06 pm

Will the custom built puller for the Cub front crank pulley also work on the Farmall Super A (C-113 and C-123) engines? I know the removal procedure is basically the same, but I was wondering if that puller will fit or work on these like it does on the Cub. I would like to get one, and it would be a bonus if it would work with both engines. I have linked the puller if you are wondering what I am talking about.

Boss....I know you have worked on the C-113 and C-123 engines; how do you remove those crank pulleys?

The size of the pulley on the A and Super A is larger, so the one that is made for the cub is too small. The differance between the two is not that great so you may be able to make one that would do either.

Here is the post about the removal of the cub front pulley. It does give the name of someone that can make these, but if you have some skills with metal you can make one yourself. I made one for myself that works well for the cub, but didn't think about the A's so it will not fit them. Take a measurement of the pulley on an A, and make the puller as small as will work on the A. This should also work on the cub.

Mine does not look as finished as the one in the post. Mine is made of square 6"X6"X1/2" steel, not as pretty but works as well.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the person that makes the crank pulley for the cub?
Here is a link to the pulley I am talking about.

Send a PM to Earl Fauble. His forum name is Earl.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
