What a difference a year makes sometimes.

Postby Buzzard Wing » Thu Aug 08, 2013 9:10 pm

The Advance Redoubt at Fort Adams is truly a treasure. Few people even know it exists.

Thought I would show a before and after. The first time I went to mow I was pretty unhappy, vines wrapping the cutter shaft  I even called backup. But got it done. Really pleased with the way it came out.

Boss, we need to get your Rebel butt up here, to Yankee country, when you retire. Lots of stuff to see, and no grumpy park rangers!  And Larry makes a presentable tour guide, too! Ed

Last week I gave the 'Sleepy Man Banjo Boys' a tour of the outer works at the fort (1/4 mile from the Redoubt in the pictures) after they performed a set in a giant tent (set up for the Folk and Jazz Fests). What talent! Possibly more impressive is they are truly nice young folks with humility and good manners. It was a great honor to show the place to such nice kids. I didn't know they played the main stage the year before until afterwards. Turns out they have been in the interior ditch before!
