The whine has to be air in the system somewhere .. probably needs to be bled. Give that a shot and let us know what happens.

Slick I talked to the Kubota Rep, he said to use UDT or the equivalent in it and that was one of the reasons that they changed from gear grease to hydraulic fluid.

You could tell a "udt or equivalent" was what was in it. It was a lot thinner than the gear oil and it whined with it.
I still agree with Rudi I thinks its got air!

slick:

Open the fill port and cycle the hydraulics a lot. You should hear an improvement after a half dozen or so cycles. Check the level again as it may need a bit more fluid.
