Check for slop in the throttle linkage between the governor and the carb.

Check all linkages from throttle control to the carb. Has the rod come loose between the left side rockshaft and the carb?

Thanks, forgot to mention that when I do pull back on the throttle lever it w/slow back down temporarily, but then speeds back up when I release the pressure on the throttle lever. Really have to put pressure on to get it to slow down though. Dusty B

Sounds like the governor is bad. Boss Hog probably nailed it. The weights are what bring the throttle down when the RPMs go up.
