Here's something you may not have seen.. I'm adjusting the valves on a Saito 65 R/C engine on my P-51 Mustang. The allen wrench you see in the adjuster is approx 1/16" The jam nut is approx 5/32. The gap is adjusted at .002-.004"
I did have to put the bifocals on...lol. I have a meet (fly-in) this weekend, so I'm getting ready. (It's the plane in my profile photo) Enjoy...

I don't know why it enlarged so much in the photo, but that is about 3 times actual size..

Good thing it's enlarged. I would need bifocals on to see it. Ron

My bi-focals are implants so don't need the frames anymore .. Very nice pic Stan .. I like the enlargement - makes it much easier to see.

Re: Valve adjustment for your amusement
Sure is nice of Saito to recommend that they get adjusted every 1-2 hours of operation. (per the manual on my Saito 125a)
From the manual:
* After 1 to 2 hours of operation, valve adjustment may be necessary. Adjust the valves as shown in the "Valve/Tappet Gap Adjustment" section on Page 9.
Valve/Tappet Gap Adjustment (Page 9):
Adjust the valves to a clearance of 0.03mm to 0.10mm (.002" - .004") using the supplied gauge.

Re: Valve adjustment for your amusement
Hehe, this one has never had the valve covers off after 6 years and 3 different planes. Actually I was surprised with the insides. Still starts with just a bump against compression. I always use 15% nitro, and it likes it...
