140 plus Equipment ... TAKE A LOOK!!

Postby Bill Hudson » Wed Jul 10, 2013 9:28 pm

Folks,

This is a fine looking 140 http://ashtabula.craigslist.org/grd/3923827825.html Look at the equipment!!! Some unique pieces in there. If need be, I can put feet-on-the-ground to look. (No vested interest in this, don't know who the seller is, but I'm close to Kingsville)

I saw this when Bill first posted it. I thought it looked nice enough and well priced but.......my.......it was such a far piece to go get it and haul it home. The next afternoon I got a call from Bill. He was curious and went to look at it. He was all excited and said I had to grab my trailer and get up there. He's quite the arm twister. :help: Man, it was still a long way up there and I'm short on space. I talked myself out of it despite Bill's personal appraisal but still admiring the pics. It was still in my mind all evening and literally all night. Before I got up the next morning I couldn't stand it any more and decided to at least call the guy and talk about a package deal................................ below are the pics. Candy and I took off yesterday morning and picked up Bill, went and loaded the trailer and got home last night 565 miles later. I can't thank Bill enough. :thanx: Without his help I'd still be trying to load it up. And yes Rudi, I got that "green thing with the yellow thing between it's legs".

Glad to see you got it Denny, It's great that it stayed in the Buckeye State. You don't know how close it came to heading for the barnyard.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Denny,

It was my pleasure to help you load the trailer. After I looked at it, I knew it was worth a long serious look by someone with an interest in 140s.

Enjoy it.

Denny:

I am glad that you got it, this belonged in someone's barn who can appreciate it. A very nice 140 and implements :D :!:

I am really curious about the Post Hole Digger. It looks very much like the one I got from Bill last year, right down to the frame and the brackets to mount to the finals. The head seems different but we have seen a few others similar to this one as well. Possible to post more detailed pics of the Digger as well as any makers identification etc.?

Rudi, Bill and I worked our :censored: off to load the trailer and then on Sunday I worked my :censored: off, alone, unloading (at least I had a loader to help) and getting everything crammed into the barn and out of the weather. And the weather we're having is 90 degrees + and humid as all get out. Yesterday was mowing day and, like you, I'm not as young as I was. The digger is still laying on top of the disk. I will get it off and get some pics shortly. I know you PM'd me about the manual, but it's nothing but 60 pages of mounting instructions for a whole slew of different tractors. The only mounting brackets it has are the ones for Super A thru 140.

The manufacturer is Kim Manufacturing Co., Kansas City, Mo. Through a little research I found they were formed in the 1950's and eventually branched out into commercial car wash equipment. In the 1980's they closed the ag division and eventually sold the remaining company.

Like I said, I'll get you some pics when ambition and schedule and the heat/humidity come together. I have a couple of Cubs to clean up for the tractor club display at our county fair starting this weekend.

Denny:

I understand completely. I haven't been able to do much that last 2 weeks simply because it is too hot and heat is not kind to me any more. It always is a when you gots time request... so when you gots time is fine by me

I don't envy you that unloading project at all.

I will take the info you have supplied and see what I can find. Thanks for that btw. At least it is another clue in a long line of clues for Cub Implements. Since mine will also fit the SA series .. this one probably will mount up on a Cub as well.

Enjoy yourself, but DO NOT let the heat get to you. Take it easy. Don't get Heat Stroke or something like that :!:

I really like that 120 disk. I have one just about like it except mine has ball bearings and it doesn't have scrapers.

Denny if you don't mind, when you take more photos could you get a good clear shot of the decals on the back? Mine are non-existent. I think I know where they go but I'd like to have another unit to go by.

thanks!

Man that is some nice stuff!!! It is always a treat to find a nice tractor with GOOD equipment like that taken care of. Glad someone that will continue to take care of it got it....but dang, I can't believe I missed that one! I think I saw it listed myself, but didn't think much of it. Must have not seen the equipment and I don't even remember the price. oh well.....;(
