Set bolt broken on steering knuckle

Postby Oldthings » Wed Jun 19, 2013 8:47 pm

A sincere thank you to Eugene and Raymond Durbin on this forum for your help with this. Following their advice, and getting overdosed on fumes from PB Blaster I drilled another minute or two on the stuck bolt this evening. Rapped the other side and the remaining piece just fell out. I had to look 3 times to make sure I was seeing correctly the indentation on the spindle where the tip of the bolt sets. Turns out this had been repaired before using a flat tip bolt and little brazing work underneath the spindle out of sight. That was grinded off and showed no damage. I have been following this forum for a long time and the info I have learned money cannot buy. Thank you again Eugene and Raymond, Ray Mink
