Stonethrow

Postby Kodiak » Mon Jun 17, 2013 1:47 am

As some are aware there will not be a Stonethrow this fall :( It has been a Great run for the last 7 years but things are a changing and it was time to close the book on a great chapter of life. I made some lifelong friends and met so many great folks from across the country. Thanks to everyone who ever came to Stonethrow and made it what it was. I'll still be around and on the forum I just won't be doing Stonethrow. Hopefully I will have some time to sneak off to some other Cubfest I haven't been able to make it to in the last several years

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Sorry to hear this. Rosie and I always had a great time visiting you and all the great folks who attended. I just mentioned to Rosie the other day that we needed to get our rooms reserved. I hope all is well with you, Paula and the rest of the family. We will always remember the good times.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Ron,

I'm sorry that you will not be hosting Stonethrow. I trust that you and your family will thrive in the new chapter of life.

Ron, I had a great time at all the ones that I attended. Those who never attended don't know what they missed. Have a great summer.

Ron, I completely understand. Thanks for the past times. Although Candy and I only got to one we hoped to make it again. We'll be looking for you up here sometime. Gotta finish getting ready for Red Power. Will be leaving shortly to meet up with Gary and get some spaces reserved for our members.

Ron, I'm sorry to here this news and I fully understand the reasons. While I was never able to attend, I always heard nothing but positive comments about the experience you offered the Cub Community.

Thank You for all that you have done for the last 7 years helping others.

Ron:

I certainly understand how life changes change everything. We have had some major life changes here as well and it does change the perspective. Em and I wanted to get there for Stonethrow but it never happened due to family issues, finances and other concerns. Now that our life changes have actually put traveling into the picture a bit more, it would have been nice to finally get there. Thanks for all the great pics and threads on Stonethrow and thanks for giving so many members some wonderful memories. Hopefully we will meet you at some point.

Kathy and I enjoyed every trip we made to Stonethrow. Ron , you made us all feel so welcome and treated everyone with respect. The parade , town yard sale and the Thursday night Saloon were a combination that assured a very busy weekend for everyone. Thanks for what you have contributed and we will see you soon.

Dear Ron,

Please count me among the many life-long friends met and made through your kindness and common interest in these little tractors. But like you, I've also had life changes, life challenges, and life opportunities--all of which have pulled me away from the hobby of gathering to tinker on the Cubs; and spending time on the forum hasn't been the same.

You are a good man I am very proud to call my Friend, and I hope you feel the same.

Corky/Charles
I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!

Ron:

this is bad news but I understand it. You were my first real Cub Buddy and Seth and I both hold you and your family (especially Mr. Harold and our memories of him) high in our regards. Hope to see you at DSCF this year.
