I live in washington, have a few small tractors listed in my profile. I like any color as long as its small. just purchased a standard cub lowboy 1965 with a fast hitch that uses a c2 rear mower and a rear grading blade. I was thinking might have paid to much but after learning more I think 500 was ok. It has a tranny howl and skips gears under load so working on removing tranny to have a look. The danco mower has bent slip tube on pto shaft and that will be next project.
looking forward to learning from all the members, see you soon.

Re: new here and a short introduction
Welcome to the forum! Any Loboy that runs, even without a mower, fast hitch or blade, is well worth $500.00.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a great bargain and you're off on a good start. Home built backhoe huh. Interesting.
Oh, we love to see pictures if you get a chance to load some up.

Welcome
Might want to take a look at the transmission shift forks and the shifter regarding the slipping out of gear. There are some good How To's on this topic.

Re: new here and a short introduction
I will get some pics up soon. I did not explain well about skipping gears, does not pop out of gear it skips gear tooth but remains in gear, take the load off tractor and regains movement. I read that it could be final drive on tranny but I'm not familiar with cub arangement. I would like to stop that howl too if possible.

Re: new here and a short introduction
G'day to you and congrats on acquiring that 65 lo boy And you think you paid too much for it? I wish I could find a few Cubs at that price cause all of em would be in my pole barn yard For a Cub not running, you bought it for the right price .. so good on you

Re: new here and a short introduction
I just was not sure how much I would need to invest to get it to operational standards. If you compair a cub to new lawn tractors the cub wins hands down. I got those bolts loose and am checking all bolts before disassembly. easier to clean up when tractor can be moved. I found the manuals and still learning this site.
