Re: Slow Progress
Hey nice looking 154. Do you know the year? What color white did you use? I have a 1969 I am starting to refinish and the 935 white from IHC looks to creamy.

Re: Slow Progress
That is a 1971 154. I know I used IH federal yellow, but can't remember what white I used. I know it wasn't IH. possible Majic or Valspar.

Wow - that is one pretty tractor! Looking good! Slow progress maybe but worth the wait and worth the effort.

Re: Slow Progress
Thanks for the compliment Ray. It was fun to do and I learned a lot. I traded it even up for the Cub in my avatar.

McCormick Deering IH Farmall, Paint Chart
IH # 902 or maybe IH # 905 which are both less creamy could be a match. 935 is dated for post '69 though. There are a bunch of crosses that might be useful in determining the correct colour that you want. Be a bit of a guessing game though.

Re: Slow Progress
Yes, 902 white would have been correct for a 1969 tractor, however, it's a bit hard to find, and it's a bit less creamy and more white than the standard IH 935 white. Personally, I like the 935 white better than 902, and I've often used 935 instead of 902 even on 1967/68/69 tractors where it was appropriate (those are the only years that 902 white was used). Only someone who REALLY knows Cub Cadets would ever know the difference. If it were me, I'd go with Case IH Ironguard 935 white. You can't beat the quality of that paint and it's readily available.

Re: Slow Progress
I hope to do this to my 154 after I get a tractor with a Loader that I need bad on the farm.
This was grate to see the progression of the build. I like my 154 W/ belly mower to cut my fields.
What a nice looking Tractor this ended up being.

Re: Slow Progress
I used epoxy primer on everything, including the engine. The only place the paint comes off is the exhaust manifold after a while.
