Super A height /garage height question

Postby ToddW » Mon Jun 03, 2013 1:53 pm

Wondering if a SA with a driver in the seat can get under an 8' door (includes the vertical exhaust)

I do not know how much taller the seat height is compared to a standard F-cub

Any help appreciated

Thanks

They are about 64" to the top of the steering wheel, depending a little on the tire size. You should be OK, no matter what sort of muffler you have.

Wow. 8ft door. you should be fine. I had to remove the muffler from mine when I put it in the garage... but it was nowhere near 8ft. My barn door is 8ft exactly. I have plenty of room for my super a-1 and it has taller engine.

My SA fits under my 8 foot door with me on it no problem.

Mr. E's Super M muffler used to clear the 8' door (barely) in my shop when it resided there. No problem for a SA.

The clearance in my lean-to is around 7', maybe slightly less.

My Super A's muffler just clears, as long as I don't rev up the engine to make the flapper stand up.

OK, Todd... what gives! You on the prowl for a Super A? Did you bring one home?

I'd have to test the fit with that "sweet" straight pipe on her.
