Missouri Ozarks. Very hard rains last couple of days. Gravel and rocks wash down the creek to block culverts, low water crossings, and pile up in the gravel pit below the low water crossings.
Drove to acreage first time in about 5 days due to previously expected high water at the water crossings. First crossing, water over the crossing, passable. Drove to second low water crossing expecting to be able to open the gate just behind the crossing, to enter the acreage. Two huge boulders had washed up and blocked the gate - couldn't open the gate.
Neighbor came down and skidded the boulders off the the side with his tractor and loader.
Talking to neighbor who lives up hill from the low water crossings, he said that all the gravel washed off his drive way. Told neighbor that when the water recedes we would get together and take gravel collected in the pit below the low water crossings, and regravel his drive way. Turns out that I also need to regravel and grade the road into the acreage.

Good thing you live where you do - reusing that gravel where nature placed it would be a Environmental Conservation issue in NYS. One local farmer got fined for taking excess gravel after hurricane Sandy destroyed is property. Hope you made out OK.

Wow... That seems a bit extreme....In the Adirondacks or out here, I do believe they would have retaliated with Buckshot...( That is if they could find some to buy).....Course some of us do re load....
