Blade Removal

Is there a standard way to remove Blades on a woods belly mower .
I want to sharpen them.

Turn the nut in the same direction as the blade turns. The cutting edge of the blade will be a clear indication.

Standard way is to get the biggest air wrench that you can find!---I use 3/4" drive on mine the first time removing them then after that use a 1/2" drive and watch how tight you get them!---figure on breaking at least 2 of the 3 bolts off the first time and drilling them out!---It mostly depends on how former owner cared for the mower! thanks; sonny

I figured that much , I did'nt know if anyone had any Tricks. I an not going to tackle them untill the end of season now.

Jam a 2x4 between the blades and the deck. Use this to keep the blades from turning.
I use a breaker bar when loosening the nut.

Coat liberally with Anti-Sieze during re-assembly.
