Good finds and good deals..

Postby Pickerincal » Sun May 12, 2013 10:49 am

I'm always looking at the posts here and I'm always thinking "man, those guys get the greatest deals back east". While there are a lot of farms here it seems there aren't as many good barn finds and deals like there is east of the Mississippi. Well I saw this on Craigs list and I'm wondering what you guys think. :) I got a hold of the owner but he doesn't want to deal till later today.

I haven't been into the cub cadets very much, but I would go for that.

I would add it without any price hagglin'. It'll probably be gone this afternoon.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Got it!! :{_}: This was a deal to remember! I got the 1967 Cub Cadet and the disks and the box scraper as advertised, when I got there he had out the dump trailer also. So we talked and I paid him, threw in an extra twenty and he said that was good since he threw in the trailer.
I still felt like a thief, all that for 270.00. Everything looks fine just the normal wear and some surface rust. The steering needs adjusting and maybe a good carb cleaning as the float stuck open a little. It starts and runs fine! My girl loves it so it will get plenty use hauling hay and whatnot for her horses. :D

What a deal! That box blade alone is worth more than you paid for everything. I've never actually seen one in person, but the few I've seen online have sold for over $400 by themselves. It is a REALLY rare attachment! The Brinly disks are another pricy attachment, and I've seen those go for $250 in the condition yours are in. Nice snag!

Thanks guys, your making me feel worse about getting such a good deal haha  I made two trips to pick it up and was prepared to throw in a few more bucks when I went back the second trip because I know the trailer he threw in was also not cheap, but he never came back out so... Anyway, yes the box scraper is interesting, It still has the "International" print on the back of it.
Now if I can only find a deal like this for implements for my Cub :)

Nice haul! I really like my 104. There is something about the way the 104's fenders and foot rests look, just sort of a retro rugged look. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a good deal, the seller got the price he wanted and you got a really sweet deal. ...and sometimes things crop up after the fact. Just guessing, it may be that the seller knew something was "going bad". Hopefully there isn't. In any event you got a really nice tractor and some nice implements. For the price, you can do a whole lot of fixing and still be way ahead.
