Prayers needed
Back in middle of January I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to a 3inch tumor in the lower center of my liver between the lobes. The tumor had piched off the bile ducts, and my liver was draining into my blood stream instead of where it normally goes in small intestine.
I had exterior drain tube put in immediately to help my liver, and have been on chemo treatments since Jan 15. Been working at my job through this, but its hard with chemo fatique for sure. Not much Cub time either
Tumor in liver has shrunk 40% but last Cat scan showed the rate of shrinkage has slowed up alot. It is typical in my disease and causes concern because such a large amount of liver may need to be cut out. There are new and successful options for treating large tumors that can be determined inoperable on the liver.

In 2 weeks I am going to Madison, WI at University Hosital to meet with a leader in some of the new treatment options.
I have a long way to go on this, and need to stay positive in my outlook
Thank-you for reading this, I have needed a few months for this to sink in before I opened up about it.

Thanks Ricky
Have no history of colon cancer we know of in my family. First thing my oncologist demanded was colonoscopy for my brother and sister
2 pre-cancerous polyps were removed on my younger brother last month(39)--so he was spared from this--- thanks to my doctor being pro-active

Re: Prayers needed
Todd:
Needless to say prayers are on the way from Em and I. There is no history of colon cancer in my family either, however, my Mom was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer 2 years ago IIRC. She was able to beat it .. she was lucky. We all had to go for tests. My twin tested positive and they did the biopsy then the surgery. He had stage 3 .. and successfully beat it. I was lucky - tested negative and when they did the colonoscopy, it confirmed I was clear.
The amount of progress in chemo and other therapies for colon cancer is amazing and the progress they have achieved in the last few years is simply staggering. I am sure that the Lord has plans for you, lay your trust in Him, His blessings will be upon you all. He provides the talent in the hands of the Doctors and Nurses and He provides the skill and knowledge that the scientists need to develop the drugs. You and yours will be in our prayers daily (+)
