151 Disk plow

Postby Jason (IL) » Sun Apr 28, 2013 11:55 am

I found this disk plow, have inquired about it and am looking through my parts book trying to determine if it is all there.
I only have the one picture and I think the price is a little steep but doing homework first.

The only parts that I can't find in the pic are the jack stand, the rod that goes up to the front wheel, and the steering bracket itself, although the ad says it is included. The final brackets are there, as is the lift arm that goes up to the touch control.
As for the price, it seems rather high to me considering the work it needs to clean it up and straighten bent parts.

Also if the disc is badly pitted by rust it may not shed dirt very well. New disc are N/A I think.

If the steering linkage to the front tire is complete, it's not too bad for a complete 151. You have to ask yourself if its worth it to you for that price. If 151's aren't common in your neck of the woods, it may be worth more since its complete.

I have a nice 151 and I spent more than that for it. But to me it's was worth it. Since your looking if you let this one go, how easily can you find another?

I got a few more pics from him. I to can not find the jack or the steering linkage in the photo's that he sent me. I am just going through my parts book and looking at the pics. I am not willing to pay what he wants, I have seen them in my area before and I think he wants more than double of what it's worth. I will talk to him and see what he says.

Thanks

Depending on the size of the disc, and it truly is complete, it is about right. I have sold several, and sold Gator his. I have gotten $500 plus for each of them with real good disc's

Jason,
I have a 151 disc plow with all necessary mounting hardware in a lot better shape than that one I will sell you for $275. But I am pretty far from you, 258 miles according to MapQuest. I'm in Ky about 40 miles SE of Evansville, In. If you are interested, call me during the day at 270-499-3483.

I got my plow tonight. I was trying to bargin with the man and he just wouldn't budge, ANY! I thought on it and just said load it up I don't think I will find one in this good of shape this close to home ever. So I got it home and made it a lawn ornament for now till I get to it.

The bad, I am missing just the long steering arm that goes to the front axel. He claims they are all over ebay but I haven't seen them. I am looking for one if anybody has one or a good pic and measurement so I can make one when I get around to it.

The seller kept saying he has a friend who told him it would bring a lot more at Red Power Auction. I don't know but I do know they are hard to come by it this area.

I will get some pics when I find my camera.
