Paul, that's awesome - such a nice job. Since, I am many weeks behind you on our 1948 - I'm wondering if you've been painting it piece by piece and then reassembling?

Can't wait to see the finished project.

Very nice!

Not sure what the question is on the wire clip is, but an older wiring diagram will be helpful. The only diagram for an 'alternator' (long stripe) Cub was done by Bob in CT. The clip in the picture is held by the corner dash bolt with a lock washer and nut. A little tricky, the bolt shouldn't be too long and you fold the clip back on the bolt when done. Also the battery and light cables go through a clip on the bottom of the dash with the tab on the inside. There should be one around the cables near the clutch pedal too.

The clips on the top of the fan shroud are for the headlight wires. The later ones are 'rubber dipped' and I found that 'PlastiDip' works pretty well if you want to re-coat them. Even comes in colors.

Ken,
Yes, I have taken everything apart except engine, trans, and rear end for cleaning, prime, and paint. I bought a sheet of gasket material and made gaskets where needed. I tried to reuse as many original bolts as possible after cleaning with a 4 1/2 angle grinder and cup brush. It takes a lot more time and labor to take it apart but I think it is worth it.

Btw, someone pointed out that I have part of the touch control quadrant upside down. I knew something looked a little funny about it.

Paul,

Looking good from my angle. It is always a lot of effort up front, but well worth it when you are done. What does the sprocket drive off the pto?

This cub came with a Woods 59CF-2 mower that I plan to use with it. It is chain drive part of the way to clear the fast hitch. Thanks
Paul
