Black walnut fireplace bookcases and mantle

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Very nice Brian. Was the walnut off your property?

Bob, it is made from 40 year old air dried black walnut, some of my favorite because of some of the almost purple tones to the wood----only found in the old growth type 8)

Brian:

As usual very nice work. I like the raised panels in the fireplace surround and mantel. Lots of work there. Nicely done and well balanced. The libraries are sleek as well. Not much can compare to old growth black walnut in tone and colour- exceptional warmth from the wood and the figure can be very striking.

Now was this for you and momma or for a client :?:

You can be proud of your work, it is outstanding. I see there is one shelf open, is that for a toy cub or two or three?
