Let It Snow-- New England

Ed, you need what I have for my 444. A Farmi4000 winch. Comes in so handy for making trees go where you want them to while cutting. Reduces the danger factor appreciably.

Ed will be all set, because I have a 10,000 lb winch with 150 ft cable (Us Rhodachusetts people take care of one another !!! )

All fueled up and ready to go.

Ditto on that Jeff.

If the snow comes, you know we'll need pictures of your Cubs playing in the snow.

Rick - I'll be sure to get Emily to take some pictures, or I'll take some pictures of Emily plowing.

Peter

Right now it is -21C with -29C wind chills. Snow hasn't started yet, that will later on today (yup, already Friday here in the Maritimes :D )

Gonna be a nice blankie and a fire weekend I guess. Will see what it looks like later in the morning.

Hey Ricky, We'll be sure to get a few pics to share with the gang. Did you get much out of this storm as it passed over you?

Jeff
We didn't get anything from this past system. We did get about 6" the other day though.

One of the models is now calling for more than 3 feet of snow, and it is the North American model that has been the most accurate recently when the timeline is close. This is going to be tough.... The Gravely will be ready here, but I will probably have to stay at my mother's house.

Not exspecting as much snow as you guys up further north but my little cub is ready although I might have to use one of my fords to clear my 1300 ft driveway.

I like that!!!

Ha Ha Kirk, I think that 4000 will have a hard time smushing down a couple of feet...... good for road travel though!

Sure wish I could use my Armor fast hitch blade with an L-54.... Now that would be a snow plowing Cub.

Snow has started..... I am counting on Wally to keep me in power!

Light show started here, half an hour ago. Larry, don't count on Wally to keep you in power, he let me down, big time, last outage we had! Ed

-19C with -25C wind chills, just got upgraded to a Blizzard Warning - 80 kph + winds out of the north east. As usual any blizzard in the Maritimes is gonna be a Nor'Easter. Got a fire going and me blankie. May have to get a second one ready for the weekend

ED using a Ford 3700 If I remember right a friend tried to direct the fall of a big maple with a lot of rot in the trunk. Tree went where it wanted to and the tractor jumped up in the air and landed 10 feet ahead. The weight and gravity will do their thing not necessarily the way you want them to. A 10 ton winch and long cable are nice but no nicer than where you attach it to the tree as well as the sturdiness on the far end. That they are partially cut I hope the wind helps you. Downed trees can be dangerous too as you cut a part that is under tension or compression.

I hope this snow is comming. I filled all the snow removal stuff and genny with gas it cost me $90 to fill everything along with my gas cans too. Last winter fizzled out and i had gas for mowing in the spring......
