Getting older and slower (i'm sick)
Guys/Gals and all my tractor buddies. I just found out i have prostate cancer plus my heart needs a defibulator. I haven't been myself in many years now. I have no energy plus i'm always tired. Lately i been sleeping more and more too. I can't even sit at the puter for too long too before the pain starts in my lower back. My point is this is a silent killer so get to your doctor for the prostate test and get a stress test often.
My own doctor missed this with me having a blood loss for many years. But its part my fault too i hated going for tests. My new diabetic doctor caught this with a full blown blood test. This guy is very sharp. He saved my life by me getting a handle with my diabeties and now he may have saved my life finding the cancer early. Right now I can feel my heart miss step a beat every now and then too. But they tell me they can fix it. But my favorite passion is welding and with a defibulator i won't be welding anymore. But on a bright side i can work on my tractors if i have more energy...its not the end of the road yet. Godbless; Bigbill
BTW; I say this because the hospital tech told me you want to see the younger crowd comming in there for this lately. No matter what age it doesn't matter go to the doctor and be tested anyway. Its just a blood test for prostate cancer and get a stress test to be sure your ok. I'm lucky to have made it to 62yo so far. Not only are my tractors going to be rebuilt but my body is going to be restored too.
I been living each day as if it was my last for many years anyway. My new grandson at 2 1/2 yo has every toy i can get him.

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Sad to hear of your afflictions Bill, hang in there and do as your told, you should get quite a few more years that way. I think we all are slowing a bit.

BigBill, Sorry to hear the bad news, but after the recommended treatment, hopefully your energy and enthusiasm will return.

Bill sorry to learn about your problems, however the positive attitude is the way to go. One year ago this month I thought I was doing great then suddenly I'm on the table and they are running little hollow tubes up my arteries. Now a year later and after a round of cardo rehab and doing what they told me to do I'm feeling great, weighting much less, and have more strength and energy than I have had in years. At first it really kicked me in the teeth but I took on a positive attitude like yourself and started back buying green bananas and planting pecan trees.
God bless, and hang in there.

Sorry to hear that Bill. Praying for the best. You can always stand at a distance and coach whoever is welding.

Re: Getting older and slower (i'm sick)
Hi Bill, my brother who is much older than you has had prostate treatment, has had his hip replaced and is out playing golf again better than ever off a 12 handicap. So keep that positive attitude, do what the medical professionals recommend and you'll pull through this, and see your grandson married. 62yrs nowadays is young not like years ago. Cubbers throughout the world are rooting for you, I wish you the best of luck.

Bill don't get too worked up about it. My dad was 73 when he had to have a prostate operation. He died at 96 from something else. Dad had a positive attitude and it did him well as I am sure yours will too.

Bill:
I guess it is a kind of welcome to the group
Glad to see that you have a positive attitude. No sense doing anything less cause it doesn't get you anywhere. Get over it and get on with it has been my mantra since '92 when I had to retire medically. By taking good care of yourself, eating properly and well balanced meals (diabetics need 5-6 meals per day, I know I am one but it is under control), exercise, rest and knowing most of all what your limits are will contribute to a really good quality of life. One of the secrets though is to have regular medical checkups.
