154bRear Main Seal
The rear main seal on my 1974 154 leaks like a sieve. I mow the 2 acres at my place and the mower deck is covered in oil when I am done. Strangely the oil level in the engine doesn't drop much but I have ID the leak is certainly coming down from the back of the crank. I am looking to replace the rear main seal to fix this leak. I saw a post for a machinist who made new seal holders. Where do I get one of these seals and holders and is this going to fix the leak. Thanks

If you think you're losing that much oil, check the level of your hydraulic fluid. It may be leaking into the crankcase and making it seem like the oil level is staying the same.

It doesn't take a lot of oil to really make a mess.
