Fan Assembly Lubrication

Postby outdoors4evr » Wed Jan 09, 2013 9:28 am

There is some discussion about the fan hub lubrication in the cub section of this forum, but little to no information is posted regarding this in the lubrication guide for the numbered series tractors. :help:
It "looks" like the same fan and hub is used on the numbered series, but I don't see a place to lubricate the bearings.
Is this required? If required, how is this accomplished? I don't see a place to grease or an oil cup. :lost:

Purely a guess, but I bet the 184 has a sealed bearing, being built in the late 70's early 80's

The numbered Lo-Boys have a different fan and fan belt design than the other Cubs. I believe they are all sealed bearings. My 154 Owner's Guide says nothing about lubing the fan.

Good to know. I have my 154 torn down and had the same question.
