I saw some rows like that one time. I asked the fellow who planted the corn, why the rows were like that. His response was that his girlfriend was riding on the tractor fender, This was BC, before cabs.

We used to always kid my grandpa about his crooked rows. His reply was, "Don't worry. It will rain. Then the sun will come out and they will dry straight."

Around here, when crooked rows are pointed out, the go to answer is always along the lines of "Everyone knows that you fit more in like that." or "Everyone knows that crops grow better like that."
