184 Planter

Postby JMCHRISTIAN » Fri Dec 28, 2012 11:52 am

I had an international 184 planter given to me the other day and was wondering if it will fit under a cub?

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

No it will not work under a cub. It will work behind it.

The 184 planter is a one-row planting unit. IH made a variety of attaching parts so they could be mounted either as singles or multiples in different ways on different tractors. Depending on what attaching parts happen to be on your planter, it may be easier or more difficult to mount on your Cub. They made attaching parts for both Cubs with Fast-Hitch and those without. Here is a pointer to a PDF of the manual for mounting on a Cub. If you don't have the needed parts, it can give you some ideas on what you need to make to mount it.

You'll need seed plates for it if you don't have any. Some members have the common corn plates on Ebay right now.

Upon further inspection I am not totally convinced I have a 184 planter, the frame does not look right. The next week I will take a picture so ya'll can hash it out.
