Life with Miss Rosie - Has it been that long already?

Postby Barnyard » Tue Dec 11, 2012 8:52 am

Well, 36 years ago today I said “I do” and took Miss Rosie home with me. We have had a lot of fun through all these years. She always enjoyed the rough rides out on the sand dunes during our annual Silver Lake Michigan trip for many years. When those trips ended, she became my co-pilot almost all Cub trips and makes sure she has some type of goody to provide others at the CubFests. Without her the Barnyard Bash may not exist. She puts in as much, if not more, effort as me in seeing to it the Bash goes off with little or no glitches. She helped raise a daughter who, I must say, has to be the best any parent could ever want. And she has been one great partner in life. I’m just lucky she said “I do” too.

I most certainly look forward to at least another 36 years with her. I’m not sure Jeeps or Cubs will be a part of our lives then, but I’m sure it will be something we both enjoy.

Mom told me to get a haircut (Moms are like that), but Rosie’s mom thought I was cute. If I only had known all that weight would have caused my hair to fall out, I probably would have listened to Mom. I’m glad my boss at the salt and pepper factory gave me a couple hours off work so I could say my vows (I was the guy who picked fly poop out of the pepper before it was packaged). It’s kinda nice to relive those glory years.

Well William, you're one of the very fortunate few whose looks seemed to have improved with age
Congratulations on a long happy life with your spouse and may there be many more years of enjoyment.

I have always heard that photographs don't lie, but I sometimes think typists do. You are still a couple of newly weds though, it was 41 years last June for Joann and i. Some words of wisdom from a very wise elderly neighbor I once had:

1. Don't criticize your wife's judgement, look who she married.
2. Never underestimate your wife unless it is her age or weight.

My wife says I am her trophy husband. :worthy: If you believe that line I have a bridge for sale that I will make you a good deal on.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Yeah, I picked the boutonnière about 3 o'clock that morning from old Mrs. Grubbs' Award winning flower garden. Well it wasn't an award winner that year. How was I to know judging by the garden club was at 8 o'clock that same morning.

Bill and Rosie:

Happy Anniversary to you both. And may you definitely have another 36 years together. Wish I had seen this a couple hours earlier.

Happy anniversary newly weds; and many more.
49 this last October for Melba Jo and me. Seems just like a short time cause we don't remember all that time we spent sleeping.
Life was a blast in the 70's!
