What should a fellow pay for a Super M ,(tough looking fence row paint), running good with average rubber?
The front door is missing on the rad. This one has new ignition on it but has sat outside in the weather. Don't know why the guy couldn't throw a tarp over it if he didn"t have stable room.

I can't believe no one on here has an idea of the value of a good running Super M.
Perhaps this topic has been over done previously or else everyone is jealous. I am going deer hunting.

I would say pending year, 1200 to 1500. If it a stage II or 54 a bit more. In my area they are bringing that anyway. Now good tires add a lot more value in my opinion, since they cost so much these days. My opinion with out any pics/

Ida, this is primarily a Cub forum so as you've certainly noticed, the other model forums don't get a lot of play by comparison.

Last spring, I bought a 1953 Stage II Louisville Super M with wide front, power steering, and new tires all the way around. I paid on the North side of $2500, but South of $3000. I figured there was easily $1700+ worth of tires on the tractor.

So what makes a stage 11Super- M stand out from the rest.

Stage II (as in aye-aye not one-one, the roman numeral 2) adds distributor-drive live hydraulics as "standard" equipment, the battery relocated to a box under the seat to make room for the hydraulic reservoir under the gas tank, stronger 3-bolt starter mount.

The difference between a plain M and a Stage I is mainly a few cubic inches in the engine, disk brakes, and faster 3rd and 4th gears.

All 1952 Super Ms are Stage I. IH transitioned to Stage II in early 1953 and continued to produce them into early 1954.

Some "eggheads" (like me) will point out that the Super MTA is technically Stage III.

Does the stage II Super M also have an on and off switch on the dash?

Yes, I believe that is the correct location of it. The button on my Stage II is in the electrical box (i.e. the "dash")

My Dad has a 1952 Stage I, and IIRC the original switch was on the bracket that also held the Liftall (hydraulic) rod.
