HELP, Woods 59C idler bearing p/n needed

Postby artjh » Fri Nov 23, 2012 9:12 pm

Just finished pressing out the idler pulley bearing on my woods 59C mower. The number on the bearing is "BCA 204FGBN". Does anyone know of a replacement p/n since I cannot find any information on that p/n. The Wood's manual calls out # 6095 on the parts list digram, page 9, item25. Info would be appreciated!

The 204 # is probably the most important part, have a parts store or poke around the interenet for a bearing starting with that # and match the measurements up

I believe 204FGBN is a Timken Bearing part number. Your local parts house should be able to cross reference that for you from their books.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Thanks for your speedy replies, from my reseatch, BCA stands for Bearing Corp. of America, who is long ago out of business, or sold out to another mfg. ,,,I'm still hoping someone comes up the correct interchange part number.

Federal-Mogul took over BCA many years ago. In looking at Timken's cross reference there is this.

Image
The FM in the part number indicates it is a Federal Mogul number which is the same number it was when made by BCA.

You can either go to a parts house and ask for this Timken bearing or go to a Woods dealer and get a 6095.

Are your pulleys the cast iron type with a 5/8 bolt bore?
I put 203KRR6 in mine. Look in the agricultural section of the Timken catalog.
I bought a pair off ebay for about $25 earlier this year.

Thanks Barnyard and others, the info you posted is exactly what I need. I'm going to replace the bearings on two Woods mowers so I'll be ordering 4 bearing.

Also 'ntrenn" the mounting bolt is 5/8 in. dia and the pulley is cast iron.

Again thanks all, help greatly appreciated!

I just wanted to add that the bearing number 203KRR6 is the correct bearing for the two lower rear idler pulleys on an L59 Woods mower.
