Re: Roy D Mercer ...BAD APPLES!!.........
A sad end to Brent (Roy) and Phil. They retired from radio last month after 27 years, and just yesterday Phil Stone passed away They were the Tulsa KMOD morning crew and funny as all get out, however their humor was a bit edgy (read crude). Their retirement was unusual in that they requested (and got) no big party/affair celebrating their service. With Phil's death, speculation is he was seriously ill which prompted the retirement. Details on his death, so far, have been minimal, leaving room for much rumor and speculation.

I've got him for my ringtone on my phone and a bunch of his tapes. Gotta have a sense of humor to enjoy him. Grump

Roy D. is funny, however the REAL Leroy Mercer, aka John Bean, is way, way, way, way funnier (and dirtier!) Copies of copies of copies of cassettes of his crank calls used to regularly circulate among students of the College of Ag. & Life Sciences at NC State back in the mid-90s, and I expect long before I ever got there. Years later, through the magic of the www, I figured out who ol' Leroy really was:

Back in college, our favorite random expression was "It's a oilllllll filterrrrr!!" followed closely by "You said it was a good un!"
Good times....

Well, copyrights are there for a reason, to protect intellectual property. It has always been a fact of life, just more apparent today now that we are in the information age.

Rudi,
He didn't miss much. If you've heard one sophomoric morning show you've heard them all.
Ironic to hit a copyright check on this when most of the material appears to be stolen anyway.
