Cub Cadet 782 Mini-MakeoverBought a replacement grille at Cub-Arama and made a top hood ornament. The foot tread is is a rubber 12"x12" self-adhesive pad from Harbor Freight. Replaced the front tires, painted the hood, side panels, fenders and muledrive/deck. Bought and applied new decals. Seat has a small tear that needs to be fixed. Probably going to sell it (next Spring).

Re: Cub Cadet 782 Mini-MakeoverLookin real good. I still remember when the red x82 series came out new, and my dad had a showroom full of them. I used to spend my Saturdays taking all of the tractors out of the showroom and "re-arranging" them for dad. Those red ones really stuck in my mind. Think I was in 4th grade.

Re: Cub Cadet 782 Mini-MakeoverNeat! I really like the red '82s. As you can tell in my sig line all Cub Cadet's should look like this!
I would love to own a 782 one day.... Al "12 volt conversions are for quitters"
IH's are RED. Just say NO to yellow and white! Let us pray for farmers and all who prepare the soil for planting, that the seeds they sow may lead to a bountiful harvest.
Re: Cub Cadet 782 Mini-MakeoverLooks good Stanton, nice job!
Those red cadets are growing on me, I may have to add one to the family some day. David
Re: Cub Cadet 782 Mini-MakeoverSoooo...How did you fix that dented hub cap?
Re: Cub Cadet 782 Mini-Makeover
If I showed you a close-up pic, you'd see that I was not able to get the dent out totally. The major dent was removed by taking the hub cap out, laying it face down on my lap, and using my thumbs to pop it back out. The metal is very light gauge and can dent easily. Taking the major dent out helped with the overall appearance. Hope this answers your question. Stanton

Re: Cub Cadet 782 Mini-MakeoverSweet! I have one too, and I am working on a few things with it. They are really nice tractors and you did a good job on the make over. I am planning on putting a 450 snow blower on mine hopefully next year.
Lovin' IH for over a decade.
